Our hearts go out to Cancer Messed With... supporter Laura who lost her Grandmother to lung cancer. Just last week she posted this photo of her and her grandmother while visiting her in the hospital. Her grandmother was both a cancer fighter & survivor. “My grandma is currently battling lung cancer. She has already beaten it once before along with breast cancer! She is my biggest inspiration into why I pursued oncology nursing. I have the privilege of working with the best healthcare team at Carolinas HealthCare System CMC-Main, where I’m blessed to care for the strongest individuals I know.”

Coach Tom coaches Isabella's Dream Team, an endurance running program that raises money for pediatric cancer while training for half and full marathons. He has currently lead the team to raise well over $400,000 in the last 4 years for pediatric cancer. “Two years ago my life changed. I was diagnosed with breast cancer after having a routine mammogram. This past year has had quite a few bumps in the road. I had 2 more surgeries and a couple of scares that turned out to be nothing (thank God)! I lost a great man, my father-in-law, to cancer. We battled and had treatments together. Such a hard time that was! The last months I have felt great! I still run and work out like crazy! It helps keep my mind clear! I truly can say I soak up and enjoy every day....
