Cancer Messed With The Wrong Mom

Posted by Rachel Wood on
“Two years ago my life changed. I was diagnosed with breast cancer after having a routine mammogram. This past year has had quite a few bumps in the road. I had 2 more surgeries and a couple of scares that turned out to be nothing (thank God)! I lost a great man, my father-in-law, to cancer. We battled and had treatments together. Such a hard time that was! The last months I have felt great! I still run and work out like crazy! It helps keep my mind clear! I truly can say I soak up and enjoy every day. When you question your own mortality things tend to slow way down. Sometimes the fear is overwhelming and the emotions of what could be are very scary. But I have tried to replace my fear by positivity and faith. So today I am happy, healthy and grateful! I am so lucky to have a great family and awesome friends. I hold them close.” -CG
